This term's topic is Lincolnshire Life - World War Two. We will be exploring what it was like to live in Lincolnshire during the war. We will be visiting the Museum of Lincolnshire Life on Tuesday 20th September to take part in a range of workshops and activities.
In Numeracy this term there will be an emphasis on place value and how it is used in calculation strategies. We are also focusing on mental calculation strategies and rapid recall of known facts.
Maths activities and challenges will be sent home on a Wednesday to be handed in the following Monday.
Using life during World War Two as a theme we shall be reading examples of poems, stories and texts set in the past and a range of non-fiction texts. We will be writing stories and recounts, based on what we have read.
Spellings will be set to learn on a Monday ready for the following Friday. Look, say, cover, write and check is a strategy the children are familiar with for learning new words.
Please can you encourage your child to bring a coat to school every day.
Please can you encourage your child to bring their PE kit into school every Monday and leave it in school until Friday.
