Dear All,
A big welcome to parents, guardians, carers and friends of the children of Newton on Trent Church of England Primary School!
The Friends of Newton on Trent Primary School (FONTS) would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and invite you to join us.
FONTS are a group of parents who voluntarily give their time to help organise events in school which are fun for everyone, and which also help to raise additional funds for things in school that are of benefit for all.
We organise children’s discos, book sales, race nights and summer fetes. We hold refreshment stalls, organise clothing collections and other activities to raise money. In the past we have then been able to pay for a playground ‘Trim trail’, annual pantomime performances, reward vouchers for reading progress, leaver’s presents, and ice creams for everyone at the end of term, as well many other things. We also recently donated money to get a new school website that would be more accessible for parents to keep uptodate with what was going on in school.
We appreciate that time is precious and therefore recognise that you may not be always be able to attend our meetings. However any support you can offer would be most valuable, whether putting forward ideas, attending events to serve refreshments, promoting events to other parents, baking cakes or a host of other ways to help.
We put the dates of meetings on the calendar of this website, and also text reminders to parents just prior to the meetings. It would be fantastic if you could pop along to say hello. If you cannot make a meeting but would like to contribute to the group (great minds and all that!) please let the school office know and a member of FONTS will get back to you.
The minutes of all the meetings will be typed up and displayed on the parent notice board in the playground.
If you are on ‘Facebook’ we also have a FONTS page which is regularly updated with events and information.
Kind regards,
The Friends of Newton on Trent Primary School.
