At Newton on Trent Church of England Primary School, we understand that all children are individuals and that they all have different needs. For each child to have every opportunity to flourish, be valued and valuable and live well together, these needs need to be recognised quickly and met effectively. We understand that a proportion of our children will have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and these children’s needs may vary. Therefore, the process that we follow to meet these needs is transparent, thorough and in the best interests of the child. Some children may require more support than others to reach their maximum potential. Some children may require support for extended periods of time while others need short periods of time to overcome temporary needs. We have high expectations for all our children regardless of needs or barriers to learning and Newton on Trent Church of England Primary School are committed to recognising and identifying the needs that need to be met and plan accordingly so every child can flourish in their time with us and beyond. Our school is completely inclusive, celebrates difference and is unrelenting in our vision to ensure that all children can see the many opportunities there are for them to flourish in their own way.
At Newton on Trent Church of England Primary school we aim to:
If you require any support or want to discuss your child's needs then in the first instance raise this with your class teacher. If you have a child with additional needs and would like to discuss a place at school then contact the office.
